Ratings: 'America's Got Talent' Pushes NBC to Win

The revamped "America's Got Talent" climbed to match its season high and pushed NBC to an overall victory Tuesday evening, while ABC's "Cougar Town" ended its network run with a modest increase, according to preliminary numbers.

NBC took first place in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic with an average 2.3 rating/7 share and second in total viewers with 7.5 million. Following an "America's Got Talent" repeat at 8 p.m., a new episode the following hour climbed 12 percent from last week to match a season high of 3.7/10. It was the night's best showing in the demo. The show also had 11.3 million total viewers. A "Grimm" repeat followed.

CBS came in a distant second place in ratings but eked out first place in total viewers with an average 1.4/4 and 7.6 million. The network ran repeats, aside from "48 Hours Mystery" at 10, which posted a 1.4/4 and drew 6 million total viewers.

ABC took third place in ratings and total viewers with an average 1.3/4 and 5.7 million. The network finale of "Cougar Town," which moves to TBS next season, jumped 20 percent from a series low last week, posting a 1.2/4. It pulled 3.5 million total viewers. The 20/20 special "The Real Queen by her Own Royal Family" at 9 drew a 1.3/4 and 6.9 million total viewers.

Univision came in fourth in ratings and total viewers with an average 1.2/3 and 3.2 million.

Fox, which took fifth place in ratings and total viewers with an average 1.0/3 and 2.3 million, ran repeats throughout the night.
