R.I.P. Marcel Vercoutere
Marcel Vercoutere, the special effects and makeup artist in films including McCabe & Mrs. Miller, Deliverance, and The Exorcist, died April 13. He was 87. The LA Times obit says cause of death was complications from dementia. Vercoutere’s best known career contribution was Linda Blair’s neck-twisting robot stand-in in The Exorcist, for which he won the Golden Scroll award from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films.
