Quvenzhané Wallis Talks ‘Annie’ Role, Charity Work (VIDEO)

Quvenzhané Wallis revealed a few minor details about her upcoming role as “Annie” in Sony’s remake of the 1982 classic comedy.

The Oscar-nominated star of “Beasts of the Southern Wild” was at Variety’s Power of Youth event on Saturday, where the 9 year-old actress discussed the coveted ‘Annie’ role, in addition to her charity work for nonprofit Teaching Gardens.

“We have a lot of songs so it feels like most of it is singing but it’s not,” she said of the musical remake.

The actress is also getting singing lessons for the part.

Directed by Will Gluck, Sony’s “Annie” arrives next year and also stars Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx.

“They’re super cool,” Wallis said of the stars. “They’re cool as ice!”

Wallis won the Variety award on Saturday for her work with nonprofit Teaching Gardens, which is an afterschool program that teaches kids how to plant seeds and take care of vegetables.

“It’s a lot of fun, too!” she beamed.
