A reimagining of the hit New Line feature franchise, Rush Hour, from Warner Bros. TV and Lawrence’s Doozer, centers on a maverick LAPD detective — the wise-cracking Dr. Carter (Justin Hires), and a by-the-book detective from Hong Kong, Lee (Jon Foo) — who knock heads when they are forced to partner together.

Franks will executive produce the series alongside Lawrence and McCormick, who wrote the pilot, the movies’ Arthur Sarkissian and Brett Ratner as well Jeff Ingold. The pilot was directed and exec produced by Jon Turteltaub.

Franks, repped by ICM Partners, Thruline’s Chris Henze and attorney Warren Dern, most recently wrote and executive produced comedy Detour, inspired by rocker Rivers Cuomo’s real-life experiences, which went to pilot at Fox this past season.
