Missing VFX Producer Eric Kohler Says “I Am An Addict”

UPDATED, 11 AM December 20: Eric Kohler, the VFX producer reported missing from L.A. earlier this month and found a week later in Mexico, said on his Facebook page today that he is an addict and is currently in treatment at a facility. “My name is Eric Kohler and I am an addict,” the long post read, in part. “Addiction is a serious issue that I clearly recognize now.”

PREVIOUSLY, December 4: The Los Angeles Police Department just put out a statement regarding Eric Kohler, the VFX producer who was reported missing this week (read the news release here): “Detectives from the Missing Persons Unit reviewed information provided to them and have determined that Mr. Eric Kohler is currently in the city of La Paz, Mexico and is no longer considered a missing person.”

PREVIOUSLY, December 1: Los Angeles police are searching for Eric Kohler, a VFX producer on such films as The Avengers, San Andreas and World War Z who has been missing for a week. He was last seen November 24 leaving his office at Vitality Visual Effects in the 1700 block of El Segundo Boulevard in Gardena. Police say he drove away from the building about 4 PM.

Kohler, 27, was driving his 2015 black four-door Land Rover, which has black rims and a small dent on the driver’s side. The California license plate is 7KIM941. The car was last seen in the Food 4 Less parking lot at S. Western Avenue and Imperial Highway in Westmont.

He is described as 5-foot-10 and about 165 pounds, with straight brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a light blue short-sleeve collared shirt, blue jeans, brown suede shoes and a chrome-plated watch with brown leather on his left wrist.

IMDb lists Kohler’s VFX credits at Vitality as including The Revenant, Goosebumps, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Hangover Part III, Moonrise Kingdom, 2012, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Fast & Furious.
