‘Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension’ Trailer Looks A Lot Like ‘The Ring’ (Video)

The first trailer for “Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension” suggests screenwriters Gavin Heffernan and Adam Robitel really liked “The Ring.”

The upcoming horror movie will focus on an evil spirit that has found its way into a family’s home after the filmmaking dad watches a strange VHS tape he found in a box.

But at least the familiar premise promises that audiences will actually see the supernatural activity in the sixth installment of the Paramount Pictures franchise. Along with the old tape, the protagonists find a weird camera that captures “spirit photography.”

Much like “The Ring,” there’s a creepy little girl at the center of all the horror, and like previous “Paranormal Activity” movies, all of the action will unfold through found footage.

“Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension” hits theaters on Oct. 23.
