Paramount Signs First-Look Deal with 'Transformers' Producer

Paramount Pictures has signed a first-look deal with Ian Bryce, the producer of "Saving Private Ryan" and the "Transformers" films.

Bryce has a close working relationship with the studio and one of its favorite directors, Michael Bay.

In addition to the angry robot films, Bryce is producing Bay's bodybuilding drama, "Pain and Gain," which stars Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

He will also produce Bay's planned fourth entry in the "Transformers" series and Paramount's zombie apocalypse film, "World War Z."

In a release touting the first-look deal, Paramount said that Bryce recently brought the project "Amazing Girl" to the studio as a vehicle for Zoe Saldana.

The English producer was nominated for an Oscar for producing "Saving Private Ryan" in 1998. He got his start as a production assistant on 1983's "Return of the Jedi," before climbing up the Hollywood ladder.

“Anyone who has worked with Ian can confirm he is one of the world's most creative producers and we are so lucky to have him now call Paramount home," Adam Goodman, president of the Paramount Film Group, said in a statement.

Bryce is repped by The Gersh Agency.
