Oscar Advertising Is Sold Out, Says ABC
In a call today with analysts and journalists to discuss earnings for The Walt Disney Company, Jay Rasulo, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of TWDC, announced that ABC has sold out advertising on the 85th Annual Academy Awards. This was the best selling pace for the Oscars in more than a decade. The Oscars were virtually sold out by Christmas, which speaks to the great appeal of the show to advertisers. The show is scheduled to be broadcast live on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2013 on the ABC Television Network.
Performers this year include Barbra Streisand, Adele and Norah Jones. The show will also do a tribute to the James Bond movie franchise.
