New Star Wars: The Force Awakens Footage Tells Us More About Rey
Having already learned a bit more about the character of Rey in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, there’s a new promo clip that gives us a bit more insight into Daisy Ridley’s character.
There’s also some tasty new footage to feast our eyes on, as the London-born actor reveals a bit more background on her new addition to the ‘Star Wars’ universe.
“She is so wonderful. She’s vulnerable, she’s strong, she’s a scavenger on the desert planet of Jakku, but she’s searching for new experiences and new adventures.”
When asked what it’s like to be in a ‘Star Wars’ movie, Ridley, 23, says “it’s been really special,” and doesn’t hold back in revealing she’s a bit of a long-time franchise fan.
“I love the films but obviously now being a part of it is really amazing, and it’s all really a lot of fun on-set.”
The actor has recently spoken about how her character isn’t simply a modern update of Princess Leia or Padme. She says Rey wasn’t born into privilege and has spent her days struggling to survive and indeed scavenge across the lands.
However, she did share that kids can “really connect with the characters,” so hopefully the J.J. Abrams film will cater well for young audiences, in terms of accessibility, but also appease the older fans - which we’re pretty certain it will.
‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ is in UK cinemas on 17 December.
