“Cara’s knack for finding fresh and unique stories that resonate with audiences is evident through her success with series such as Nashville and Orange Is The New Black, and we are thrilled that she will be bringing that passion to NBC,” said NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke.

While overseeing current programming at Lionsgate, Dellaverson also had a hand in the production company’s series Mad Men and Nurse Jackie.

“I had the pleasure of working with Cara on Nurse Jackie while I was at Showtime, and so I couldn’t be more pleased to welcome her to the NBC team,” added Igbokwe. “She has shown that she has a keen ability to develop smart, prestigious projects that have enjoyed critical and commercial success, which is the future of drama development at NBC.”

Dellaverson is a new addition to NBC’s drama development team, joining SVP Kahli Small. NBC has had more success in drama than comedy in the past couple of seasons with The Blacklist. NBC is betting on a drama-heavy fall schedule led by high-profile new series Blindspot.
