After captivating the world with Felix Baumgartner's "space dive," National Geographic Channel will now take things upward with a skyscraper climb with extreme climber Alex Honnold (pictured), the network said Wednesday.

The skyscraper climb will air live as a two-hour special in the fall.

During "Live Climb With Alex Honnold," free-solo rock climber Honnold will scale "one of the tallest buildings in the world," National Geographic Channel said Wednesday. (The building in question is being kept under wraps until the climb draws nearer "for safety reasons," the network said.)

Honnold will be accompanied by a crew of vertical cameramen who'll hang in position at various points along the side of the building, filming the climber up close as he makes his way to the top of the building.

"I've always loved climbing in all forms and this is an amazing opportunity to push my own climbing into interesting new terrain," Honnold said of the upcoming feat. "I've admired the aesthetics of sky scrapers my whole life; it's great to be able to climb one."
