Moszkowicz Upped to Chairman at Constantin Film
LONDON — Martin Moszkowicz has been upped to executive board chairman at Constantin Film, the German distribution and production company behind the “Resident Evil” and “The Mortal Instruments” franchises.
Moszkowicz replaces Bernhard Burgener, who becomes chairman of the company’s supervisory board.
Moszkowicz, who has signed a new contract that runs until Dec. 31, 2018, continues to lead the company’s production activities, as well as overseeing its sales, acquisitions and marketing work.
Constantin’s current release slate includes “Walking with Dinosaurs” and comedy “Fack Ju Goehte,” which has grossed more than $60 million at the German box office. Its upcoming slate includes Paul W. S. Anderson’s action adventure “Pompeii 3D,” which FilmDistrict is releasing Stateside.
Constantin is a partner in London-based sales company Mister Smith Entertainment, which is headed by former Summit Intl. president David Garrett.
Moszkowicz started at Constantin in 1990 as producer and general manager, and became a member of the exec board in 1999. He has produced, co-produced or exec produced more than 150 films and countless TV movies.
He is chairman of the supervisory board of German Films, which promotes Teutonic pics abroad, and is a board member of the German Producers Alliance.
