‘Minority Report’ Order Cut By 3 Episodes

Following a slow start, Minority Report‘s original 13-episode order has been trimmed to 10 episodes. Fox is stopping short of canceling the futuristic thriller, though there will be no additional episodes ordered beyond the 10, with production slated to wrap after that.

Fox had scheduled Minority Report for a 10-episode fall run, with the remaining 3 episodes of the original order (and presumably backup episodes) set for later in the season. Episode 10 had been designed as a fall finale, so it will now serve as a season finale (and possibly series finale). Minority Report will continue to air in its current Monday 9 PM slot.

A follow-up to the hit Steven Spielberg-Tom Cruise 2002 movie, Minority Report launched to lukewarm reviews and soft ratings, hitting a low of 0.7 adults 18-49 Live+same day rating in its most recent third airing. Its delayed viewing lifts have been solid percentage-wise, most recently +44% for Episode 2 in Live+3, though the very low Live+SD levels have been hard to make up, with the second episode posting a 1.3 adults 18-49 L3 rating.

Minority Report is from 20th Century Fox TV, Amblin TV and Paramount TV and stars Meagan Good, Stark Sands, Wilmer Valderrama, Nick Zano, Daniel London, Laura Regan, Li Jun Li and Zhane Hall.

So far this season, crime procedural Rosewood starring Morris Chestnut has emerged as Fox’s strongest new series, with the drama yesterday receiving an order for three backup scripts.
