Michael Bay Downplays ‘Transformers 4′ Fire

Michael Bay has weighed in with an undramatic version of this week’s fire on the set of “Transformers 4″ in Pflugerville, Texas.

“I’m reading how the news makes everything more dramatic than real life,” he said in a post on his blog. “I guess the truth was just too unexciting. Yes there was a small smoldering fire at a house and no, no one was injured during the fire. And no, no one “just narrowly escaped” as the news dramatically states. A crew member though twisted his ankle after falling in a gopher hole on the ranch.”

Bay said the fire was put out 15 minutes by the fire crew on set.

“It was an attic fire and cause is unknown,” he added. “No we were not shooting in the attic, we were shooting outside on the ranch.”

Bay began shooting two weeks ago and has unveiled six of the vehicles in the film. “Transformers 4″ stars Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Nicola Peltz, Sophia Myles and Li Bingbing. Paramount has set a June 27, 2014 release date.
