‘MasterChef Jr.’ Ratings Down, ‘Amazing Race’ Even, ‘Santa Claus’ Matches 2014

On a Friday night of mostly repeats and holiday specials, Fox was the only network to run a full slate of originals. As it was, MasterChef Junior (0.9/3) and World’s Funniest (0.6/2) both got hit by the expected post-Thanksgiving lull, with millions of Americans beginning their trek home.

The Gordon Ramsay led cooking series saw an 18% drop among adults 18-49 from its November 20 show. Its Terry Crews hosted follow up was down 14% in its 9 PM slot from the week before. MasterChef Junior wasn’t the only original in its 8 PM time slot with The Amazing Race (1.0/4) also, well, in the running. The CBS reality series neither picked up nor lost any of its November 20 pace, coming in even with last week.

ABC held the top demo spot for the night with 20/20 (1.1/4), which was tied with the net’s 8 PM forward holiday planning airing of Santa Claus In Comin’ To Town. The 1970 Fred Astaire narrated stop motion special was even with its December 9 showing of last year, which was on a very competitive Tuesday. With no Donald Trump and family interview, 20/20 took a 21% tumble in the ratings among the 18-49s from last week’s Barbara Walters sit-down with the GOP Presidential candidate and clan. 20/20 was the only new news mag on last night as Dateline was a repeat.

ABC won the night as it has the past several Fridays among the demo with a 1.1/4 rating while CBS, even without a new Blue Bloods, was Number #1 in viewers with an audience of 6.19 million. The repeat of the Tom Selleck NYPD drama, which got a 0.8/3 rating, was still the most watched show of the night with 7.48 million tuning in.
