‘Lilyhammer’ Canceled After 3 Seasons On Netflix – TCA

Netflix’s Norwegian drama series Lilyhammer will not be back for a fourth cycle. The streaming network today confirmed that Season 3 will be the last for the series which follows the exploits of former gangster Frank “The Fixer” Tagliano (Steven Van Zandt) as he makes a new life under the federal witness protection program in Lillehammer, Norway. The series, which originated in Norway, marked Netflix’s first foray into original programming when the streaming service joined the project early on. But entangled ownership and rights web and escalating costs ultimately led to its cancellation. Lilyhammer ended its run on a high note — dominating the comedy section at the recent Monte Carlo TV Festival, winning Golden Nymph awards for best European series and best actor, Van Zandt.

Van Zandt weighed in on the cancellation on Twitter.
