Len Wiseman Exits ‘Mummy’ Reboot

Fans of “The Mummy” series will have to wait a little longer for the reboot.

Sources tell Variety that director Len Wiseman has fallen off the project due to scheduling conflicts. Sources say he has been devoting increasing time to his Fox TV series “Sleepy Hollow.”

Sean Daniels, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing.

Jon Spaihts wrote the script and the studio still sees the film as a top priority given the popularity of the previous franchise starring Brendan Fraser.

When Kurtzman and Orci signed a two-year production deal with Universal that was aimed at developing some of the classic monster movie titles in Universal’s film library, “The Mummy” reboot was one of the first projects announced.

Kurtzman, Orci and Daniels will now work fast to find Wiseman’s replacement.

Wiseman, who is repped by CAA, most recently directed Sony’s “Total Recall.”
