Latest SAG-AFTRA Board Meeting Provides No Commercial Talks Details To Members

LOS ANGELES (January 18, 2013)- SAG-AFTRA Today Released the Following Statement:

We’re pleased and excited with the results of the union election at KPCC. We are looking forward to working with the new SAG-AFTRA bargaining unit in partnership with KPCC management to negotiate a first contract.

The new bargaining unit will cover 65 reporters, producers, show hosts and news anchors at KPCC and is moving forward to negotiate a first contract.

We are proud of the effort to organize a union at KPCC and believe that the employees’ commitment to positive engagement, along with a lot of hard work — delivered this great result.

KPCC reporter and member of the union organizing committee Matt DeBord said, “We want to thank our KPCC station employees who participated in this election and we look forward to continuing our working relationship as we move forward.”

The organizing campaign at KPCC started in 2012. Station employees requested an election with the National Labor Relations Board on November 20, 2012. The count was conducted by NLRB Region 21 in Downtown Los Angeles today at 12:30 p.m. and results were 35 yes, 26 no.
