Justin Lin to Unveil New Short at Google I/O Developer Conference

In the upcoming Google I/O Developer Conference, Justin Lin will unveil a new short he helmed in association with Google’s advanced technology and products group.

The conference is at the end of the month, and the spotlight story Lin helmed is described as a live-action short that will be displayed in “full 360 with 3D soundsphere.” Spotlight stories in the past have been presented on the Moto X smartphone and Google’s Cardboard VR headset and are usually animated, with this year marking the first live-action short to bow at the conference.

ATAP’s best known product is the modular Project Ara smartphone, which is due to go on sale in Puerto Rico later this year. This I/O session will likely have an update on Ara’s progress.

Lin is in pre-production on “Star Trek 3,” which goes into production this month.
