Justin Bieber's Anne Frank Comments Draw Twitter Reaction from White House Media

Three days after Justin Bieber visited the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and wrote in the site's guest book his intensely affected thought, "Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber," the words are reverberating at the White House.

Well at least they are in some White House reporters' tweets.

Awaiting the start of the daily White House press briefing by Press Secretary Jay Carney, some White House media tweeted out the first question voiced softly by CNN Chief White House reporter Jessica Yellin of Carney.

"Are you a Belieber?" the tweets say she asked.

Bieber's comments Friday have drawn fire from some radio show hosts as insensitive and self absorbed.

The Anne Frank House on Monday in a statement on its Facebook page, however, praised Bieber for making the visit.

"The Anne Frank House was pleased to welcome Justin Bieber to the Anne Frank House last Friday," the statement said.

"We think it is very positive that he took the time and effort to visit our museum. He was very interested in the story of Anne Frank and stayed for over an hour. We hope that his visit will inspire his fans to learn more about her life and hopefully read the diary."
