Justin Bieber Arrest: 6 Bizarre Developments Since the Singer Was Sprung From the Slammer (Photos & Video)

Pop star Justin Bieber was arrested and subsequently released on bond Thursday for DUI and drag-racing in Miami Beach, but of course that’s not where the drama ends.

As the news broke, the world dropped what it was doing and focused on ever-changing Twitter hashtags and south Florida press conferences. And then the Biebs got out.

Here’s some of the latest happenings since then:

Big Shoes
Bieber Instagrammed a black-and-white split photo on Friday, the left side of himself on top of an SUV, waving to fans following his Thursday release. On the right side was a similar-looking Michael Jackson photo that was snapped following the late singer’s 2004 acquittal from child molestation charges.

In the image, Jackson is on top of a vehicle of his own, throwing the “peace” sign to his supporters. For a caption, Bieber wrote, “What more can they say,” with a graphic of a crown — likely standing for “King of Pop” — accompanying the text.

Escort Service
Bieber may not be the only one in trouble down in South Florida. Authorities in the suburban Miami city of Opa-locka are investigating whether the singer was given a police escort when he landed Monday at the Opa-locka Executive Airport, according to the Associated Press.

Police escorts are common, but they are still required to follow procedure due to the fact that they involve city vehicles. In this case, administrators had not authorized any escort for the “Boyfriend” singer. The investigation continues.

Easy Target
The late-night talk show comics live for topical fodder like the Bieber drama, and the hosts did not disappoint on Thursday night.

Jimmy Kimmel quipped: “Just when the streets are finally safe from Lindsay Lohan, Justin Bieber was arrested in Miami Beach early this morning … and he’s in trouble with his grandparents for not stopping by to visit while he was in town.”

Jimmy Fallon threw in his own jab, this one on Bieber’s happy-go-lucky mugshot: “I don’t know if I’m looking at a mugshot or a Proactiv commercial.”

David Letterman did not designate Bieber to just his monologue — the young ne’er-do-well inspired an entire Top Ten list.

The NHL’s Dallas Stars hosted the Toronto Maple Leafs — Bieber’s favorite team — on Thursday evening. Someone, clearly a genius, posted the message below on the arena’s Jumbotron, taunting the home team’s opponent:

Drunk Not Drunk
According to media reports, Bieber’s blood alcohol level may have actually been 0.014, not the .04 that the police (and media) originally reported. The new number would be below the minimum for even a minor to be considered legally drunk in the state of Florida, which is .02.

According to the police report, Miami Beach PD claim that Bieber smelled of alcohol. That is now being questioned as well, considering such a low level would signify that a very minor amount of alcohol was consumed. Stay tuned on this investigation too.

Street, Smart
CBS4 News obtained surveillance footage of what appears to be either the now-infamous drag race, or its aftermath. In the security footage viewers can see a yellow Lamborghini — presumably Bieber’s — speeding down Miami Beach’s Pine Tree Dr. with a black Cadillac Escalade alongside. Just behind, a red Ferrari followed and another black Escalade followed. A few seconds later, the Miami Beach police cars appear in frame.
