Julia Roberts’ ‘Secret in Their Eyes’ Pushed Back to Nov. 20

STX Entertainment has moved its crime thriller “The Secret in Their Eyes” back a month from Oct. 23 to Nov. 20 — when it will launch against Lionsgate’s “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.”

“The Secret in Their Eyes,” a remake of the 2009 Oscar-winning Argentinian film of the same name, stars Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Roberts plays an FBI investigator whose team is torn apart when they discover that the “unidentified female body” abandoned in a garage dumpster is her teenage daughter. Her friend and co-worker, played by Ejiofor, continues digging every day for 13 years until he uncovers a new lead.

“The Secret in Their Eyes” is directed by Billy Ray and produced by Mark Johnson and IM Global’s Matt Jackson. The film is the first potential awards contender and only the second release from year-old STX, which launches its first title on Aug. 7, opening with the thriller “The Gift.”
