Jon M. Chu Will Return to Direct ‘G.I. Joe 3′

After helming “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” to more than $350 million at the worldwide B.O., Jon Chu is readying his return to helm the third installment in the “G.I. Joe” franchise for Paramount and MGM.

Skydance is expected to return as a financier and the studios are now looking for writers. Deadline Hollywood broke the news.

In terms of actors, it is unknown who will return for the sequel. The only star to return for “G.I. Joe Retaliation” was Channing Tatum and his role was brief.

Given the success of the most recent pic, its expected they will try to bring back each of the new players, including stars Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson.
