John Rhys-Davies Cast In ‘Alex In The Afternoons’; ‘Higher Power’ Adds Colm Feore; Cas Anvar Joins ‘Vatican Tapes’

Lord Of The Rings thesp John Rhys-Davies will star in indie Alex In The Afternoons for Hurbinek Productions and Love Lea Films. Rhys-Davies will play Signore Voza in the noir thriller about a model (Hannah Cowley) connected to a series of disturbing disappearances. Music video veteran Markus Innocenti (Murder Story) is writing and directing the pic, with Kirsten Lea (Walk A Mile In My Pradas) also starring and producing. Rhys-Davies is represented by Spring Management.

Colm Feore (The Borgias, Revolution) has joined the cast of the Lorenzo Di Bonaventura-produced Higher Power, a digital sci-fi thriller co-produced by Break Media. Feore will play “Control” in the film about a man who wakes up in an alley and realizes he’s being manipulated by a brilliant psychopath. Matt Santoro is directing a cast that includes Ron Eldard, Mei Melancon, Austin Stowell, and Marielle Jaffe. Break Media’s Greg Siegel and Evan Cholfin are also producing. Feore’s upcoming films include Paramount’s Jack Ryan and Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. He is repped by Coronel Group.

Cas Anvar (Source Code, Diana) has been cast in Lakeshore Entertainment‘s The Vatican Tapes, directed by Mark Neveldine (Crank). Anvar will play Dr. Fahti in the demonic possession drama which also stars Michael Pena, Djimon Hounsou, Dougray Scott, Peter Andersson, and Olivia Dudley. Lakeshore’s Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi are producing the pic alongside Chris Cowles. Lionsgate has a 2014 release in the works. Anvar next appears as Dodi Fayed in Entertainment One’s royal biopic Diana opposite Naomi Watts. He’s repped by House of Representatives.
