Jimmy Kimmel to Guest on Stephen Colbert’s ‘Late Show’

Late Show with Stephen Colbert” has added an interesting guest to its upcoming roster: Jimmy Kimmel.

The host of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” will head to the Ed Sullivan Theater to appear on CBS’ late-night show next week, Colbert announced on Twitter (He previously teased the news on Howard Stern’s radio show).

This marks Kimmel’s first appearance on “Late Show” since Colbert took over as host on Sept. 8. Fellow late-night hosts Jimmy Fallon and Trevor Noah (and, of course, Jon Stewart) have also appeared on the show.

The episode won’t interfere with the broadcasters’ late-night rivalry for ratings, per se. Kimmel will appear on a Friday episode of “Late Show,” a night that his program is normally in reruns. And Kimmel will be in town anyway, as “Jimmy Kimmel Live” will be filming from Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Howard Gilman Opera House for the week of Oct. 19.

Other guests on the Oct. 16 episode of “Late Show” are “Crimson Peak” cast members Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska and director Guillermo del Toro. The musical guests are the pop duo Beach House.
