Jeremy Sisto Lands ‘Wicked City’ Lead In ABC Drama Recasting

EXCLUSIVE: The Returned star Jeremy Sisto has been tapped for the lead role of Detective Jack Roth in ABC’s new fall crime drama Wicked City. In this recasting, the Suburgatory alum is taking over the role of the conflicted cop played by Adam Rothenberg in the pilot. The deal was closed over the weekend, I’ve learned, with papers to be signed imminently.

Each season of the L.A.-themed anthology series intended to focus on a case from a different era in the City of Angels. The first season follows a 1982 murder case centered on the rock ’n’ roll, drug-fueled Sunset Strip. Steven Baigelman wrote the script and EPs with Todd Lieberman, David Hoberman and Laurie Zaks. Jon Cassar has also joined as an executive producer, sources say. The longtime 24 director and EP signed on to the show last month. With Amy Harris recently named showrunner, the ABC Studios-produced series is set to premiere on October 27 at 10 PM.

Sisto will next be seen in Broad Green’s Break Point, a tennis comedy he also co-wrote and produced. The actor will also be in the upcoming pic The Other Side Of The Door. He is repped by Gersh and MGMT Entertainment, formerly the Schiff Company.
