Jeff Bridges’ ‘Seventh Son’ Gets First Trailer

Jeff Bridges’ wizard is taking on a multitude of evil forces, including a witch portrayed by Julianne Moore, in the first U.K. trailer for Warner Bros.’ fantasy action film “The Seventh Son.”

The film also stars Ben Barnes as an apprentice and the titular seventh son of a seventh son. “Seventh Son” also stars Kit Harrington, Antje Traue, Alicia Vikander, Olivia Williams, Djimon Hounsou and Jason Scott Lee.

“Seventh Son” will open in the U.K. on Oct. 25, three months before the U.S. release.

Warner Bros. had originally planned to release “The Seventh Son” in the U.S. on Feb. 15, 2013, but decided in May 2012 to move it back to Oct. 18. It recently decided to move the U.S. release back again to Jan. 17, 2014.

“Seventh Son” is partially financed by Legendary Entertainment, which is taking its distribution deal from Warner Bros. to Universal.

Formerly known as “The Spook’s Apprentice,” “The Seventh Son” is adapted from Joseph Delaney’s young adult series.
