Inside Out Passes $600 Million Milestone

Pixar’s latest smash hit, ‘Inside Out’, has not only been well received critically, but it’s made a bucket load of cash at the box office as well.

Having been in cinemas for seven weeks - it came out as early as 17 June in Egypt - Pixar’s 15th feature film has now passed the $600 million mark.

This is Pixar’s seventh movie to pass this milestone, with their last film, ‘Monsters University’, also leaving its mark with $744 million.

‘Inside Out’ is widely regarded as a return to form for the animation company, with many believing that this is one of their best movies to date.

The story, focusing on an 11-year-old girl named Riley, is about the five core emotions that ‘run’ her mind and keeps her thoughtsin check in a control centre. They include: Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Sadness (Phyllis Smith) and Disgust (Mindy Kaling).

In total, ‘Inside Out’ has made $602 million, with its takings expected to rise even more over the next month or so until kids return to school after the summer holidays.

Its opening weekend took a whopping $90 million and ended up assuming the number 1 spot in the UK when it came out here.

‘Inside Out’ is out now, with Pixar’s next animation, ‘The Good Dinosaur’, hitting UK cinemas on 27 November, 2015.
