Horror Anthology ‘Southbound’ Bought by The Orchard for North America

The Orchard has bought North American distribution rights to horror anthology “Southbound,” which premiered in the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto Film Festival last month.

The distributor plans to release the film in the first half of 2016.

The film contains five stories set on desolate stretches of a desert highway. Two men on the run from their past, a band on its way to a gig, a man struggling to get home, a brother in search of his long-lost sister and a family on vacation are forced to confront their worst fears and darkest secrets in these interwoven tales.

“Southland” is produced by “V/H/S” producers Brad Miska and Roxanne Benjamin, along with Chris Harding and Greg Newman. The directors include David Bruckner, the filmmaking team Radio Silence, Patrick Horvath and producer Roxanne Benjamin.

The deal for the film was negotiated by Craig Sussman of The Orchard with CAA on behalf of the filmmakers.
