HBO looks like it has another winning stage-to-screen drama adaptation on its hands.

Over a decade since the network won major accolades with its production of Tony Kushner's Pulitzer-winning “Angels in America,” the cabler will premiere Ryan Murphy's adaptation of Larry Kramer's Tony-winning “The Normal Heart,” which takes on the early days of the AIDS crisis in New York City.

The first teaser debuted on Sunday night, with a fast-paced and already moving look at the gigantic tragedy and small triumphs of the era. Mark Ruffalo stars as Ned Weeks, the loud and very public activist; Taylor Kitsch, the more quiet leader who leads Ned's group; and Julia Roberts as Dr. Emma Brookner, a polio survivor who joins in the struggle for more research and medicine for the mysterious disease ravaging New York's gay community. Matt Bomer, Jim Parsons and Jonathan Groff also star.

The film debuts on May 25.
