HBO Hires Film Producer & Executive Nora Skinner As SVP Drama Programming
HBO is bringing another executive/producer from the feature world to its drama team. Nora Skinner has joined HBO as SVP, HBO Programming, reporting to the network’s head of drama, EVP HBO Programming Michael Ellenberg, who also came from a feature background. Based in HBO’s Santa Monica office, Skinner will oversee the development and production of current and new original drama series, working alongside drama execs David Levine and Francesca Orsi.
“Nora brings a wealth of experience working with some of the finest talents in the business, in addition to her exceptional skills with story and a great eye for talent and material,” Ellenberg said.
Most recently EVP of Production and Development at Indian Paintbrush, Skinner was an executive producer on Sundance 2015 Grand Jury Prize Winner Me And Earl And The Dying Girl and Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close as well as associate producer on The Reader and Doubt.
Before joining Indian Paintbrush, Skinner was SVP of Development at Scott Rudin Productions in New York, where she worked on The Social Network, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Moneyball, Revolutionary Road, The Other Boleyn Girl, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Julie & Julia, among other film, television and theater projects.
In addition to working on the Tribeca Film Festival, Skinner served as the Director of Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro’s Tribeca Theatrical Productions and the Co-Managing Director of their Tribeca Theater Festival.
