‘Hannibal’ Star Hugh Dancy Joins Hulu’s ‘The Way’ Original Drama

Hugh Dancy, who currently stars in the final season of NBC’s “Hannibal,” has been cast in Hulu original drama “The Way” alongside Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan.

The show centers on a family struggling with relationships, marriage and power. Dancy will play Cal Roberts, who is entangled in a complicated relationship with two other members of a controversial movement, Sarah (Monaghan) and her conflicted husband, Eddie (Paul).

“The Way” is scheduled to shoot in New York in September. The 10-episode series is slated to premiere early in 2016.

“The Way” is produced by Universal Television and Jason Katims’ True Jack Prods. Show was created by Jessica Goldberg who will write and exec produce the series, along with Katims and Michelle Lee of True Jack Prods.

Dancy is repped by UTA, United Agents and Gene Parseghian. The British thesp’s credits also include “Black Hawk Down” and “Confessions of a Shopaholic.”

“The Way” is part of Hulu’s growing slate of original programming. That includes Stephen King and J.J. Abrams event series “11/22/63” about the JFK assassination starring James Franco; comedy “Difficult People” produced by Amy Poehler and starring Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner; comedy “Casual” from Jason Reitman; and the revival of Mindy Kaling’s “The Mindy Project” after Fox’s cancellation of the show.
