‘Gilmore Girls’ Re-Runs Headed To UP Network; ‘Ties That Bind’, ‘Welcome Home’ Get Premiere Dates – TCA

UP announced today at TCA that the family network is taking all seven seasons of Warner Bros. TV’s Gilmore Girls, in addition to announcing the premiere dates for two series, Ties That Bind and Last Hope With Troy Dunn, as well as their movie Welcome Home. The 153 one-hour episodes will begin airing this fall. The deal was negotiated by Sophia Kelley, UP’s SVP of programming. The series raised the profiles of such actresses Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel and Melissa McCarthy among many others. The show aired from 2000 to 2007, starting its run on The WB Network before it became The CW. Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, Gilmore Girls is set in a storybook Connecticut town and follows Lorelai Gilmore (Graham) and her daughter Rory (Bledel). Lorelai owns the town’s bed and breakfast, the Dragonfly Inn, with best friend Sookie (McCarthy), and along the way in her day has to contend with her eccentric, well-off parents Richard (Edward Herrman) and Emily Gilmore (Kelly Bishop). Gavin Palone and Daniel Palladino also served as EPs.

In addition, UP announced premiere dates for its first original drama series Ties That Bind which follows a Seattle detective (Kelli Williams), who amid balancing her job and family life, is forced to arrest her brother Tim (Luke Perry). The series airs Aug. 12 at 9 PM. It also stars Jonathan Scarfe and Dion Johnstone with special guest stars Jason Priestly, C. Thomas Howell and Kristen Prout.

UP’s original reality series Last Hope With Troy Dunn will debut on Thurday, Sept. 10 at 9PM. the show stars real-life missing persons expert and author Troy Dunn (APB with Troy Dunn, The Locator). Luke Perry will headline and executive produce the UP movie Welcome Home. It airs on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 7PM EST/6PM PST. UP is available in 70M cable and satellite homes.
