‘The Bastard Executioner’ First Look Adds To FX’s Comic-Con Lineup — Update

UPDATE, THURSDAY AM: FX will be presenting a world premiere first look of Kurt Sutter’s new series The Bastard Executioner at Comic-Con on Sunday, July 12. The show will cap off FX’s Sunday 3-4:30PM block which includes a presentation of Denis Leary’s Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll as well as The Strain. Set in the Middle Ages, The Bastard Executioner tells the story of a warrior knight (Lee Jones) in King Edward I’s charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword. But when that violence finds him again he is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all. The rest of the Fox and FX Comic-Con lineup is below.

PREVIOUS, WEDNESDAY AM: 20th Century Fox TV has announced the times and locations for its screenings and panels at next month’s Comic-Con. The release is posted below the previous story, with complete descriptions and panelists.

PREVIOUS, 10:30 AM, June 1: Fox’s anticipated comedy horror anthology series Scream Queens will make its world premiere at Comic-Con. It’s among 13 20th Century Fox TV series that will be repped at the megafest, which runs July 9-12 at the San Diego Convention Center, with the preview night on July 8.

From Glee creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, the first installment of Scream Queens revolves around a college campus that is rocked by a series of murders. In addition to the world premiere screening, there will be a joint Scream Queens/American Horror Story panel session with Scream Queens stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Skyler Samuels and Keke Palmer, and AHS: Freak Show and upcoming AHS: Hotel stars Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Matt Bomer.

The Comic-Con crowd also will get a first look at sci-fi action thriller Minority Report. Based on the 2002 Steven Spielberg movie, it follows the unlikely partnership between a man haunted by the future and a cop haunted by her past, as they race to stop the worst crimes of the year 2065 before they happen. Stark Sands (Inside Llewyn Davis), Meagan Good, (Think Like A Man franchise, Californication) will be there, along with other cast and producers for a special screening followed by a Q&A.

Other Fox series to make their ‘Con debut include The Last Man On Earth, Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll and Damien, along with ‘Con returnees Sleepy Hollow, The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers and Salem. Seth MacFarlane will lead a panel that featuring first looks at the upcoming seasons of Fox’s Family Guy and TBS’ American Dad! and an exclusive look at his newest animated project, Fox’s Bordertown.
