Four New Transformers Films Confirmed

We’re currently not too sure when the sequel to ‘Transformers: Age Of Extinction’ is coming out. All that we do know is that it’s certainly coming, because a Hasbro executive has confirmed that there will be four new ‘Transformers’ films over the next decade.

Stephen J. Davis, who is the President of Hasbro Studios and Entertainment and Licensing for Hasbro, emphatically told the audience at MIP Junior 2015 over the weekend that plans were now moving ahead for the future ‘Transformers’ films.

Davis revealed that the ‘Transformers’ writers room, which was formed earlier this year, has already created enough material for this quartet of adventures.

“You’re going to see a new ‘Transformers’ movie coming from Hasbro and Paramount and Michael Bay and our other partners,” Davis told the crowd at the event, before he then went on to detail how these films were created.

“In fact, we just finished – as some of you may have read – an incredible experience. We decided we wanted to plot out the next 10 years of the ‘Transformers’ franchise,” Davis continued.

“So we got together in a 3 month period of time … nine of some of the most creative writers I have ever worked with – shepherded by Akiva Goldsman, who many of you may know won an Academy Award for ‘A Beautiful Mind’.”

“And they plotted out the next ten years of ‘Transformers’. Similarly we are doing the same in television and digital. So stay tuned ‘Transformers 5’ is on its way. And 6. And 7. And 8.”

It’s no secret that Hasbro and Paramount took this rather unique step to mould the future of the ‘Transformers’ franchise.

Alongside Goldman, Steve DeKnight (‘Daredevil’), Robert Kirkman (‘The Walking Dead’), Zak Penn (‘X-Men: The Last Stand’), Jeff Pinkner (‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’), Ken Nolan (‘Black Hawk Down’), and five other writers worked together to steer the franchise ahead.

‘Transformers 5’ will, once again, be directed by Michael Bay, who has financially succeeded but critically failed with the four previous instalments, while it’s hoped that Mark Wahlberg will reprise his ‘Age Of Extinction’ character.
