FilmDistrict Ups Three In Business Affairs, Finance & Marketing

LOS ANGELES March 4, 2013 – Independent U.S. distributor FilmDistrict announced today the promotion of three executives within the company’s business affairs, finance, and marketing divisions. Beth Lemberger will move in to the role of Executive Vice President of Business Affairs and General Counsel, continuing to report to FilmDistrict CEO Peter Schlessel; Brad Goldberg now holds the new title Executive Vice President of Media and Digital, and will continue to report to Christine Birch, FilmDistrict’s President of Marketing; and Anjay Nagpal has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Finance and Business Development, continuing to report to Chief Operating Officer Adrian Alperovich.

Previously serving as FilmDistrict’s General Counsel and Head of Business Affairs, Lemberger oversees business affairs in connection with all of the company’s activities including distribution, acquisition, key vendors, business development and strategic alliance arrangements, as well as all legal matters. Prior to joining FilmDistrict, she was responsible for the U.S. movie business for Apple’s iTunes Store, where she oversaw domestic studio and independent supplier relationships, acquisition deals, day-to-day digital sell-through and rental operations, and strategic initiatives.

Goldberg is being promoted from the position of FilmDistrict’s Senior Vice President of Media. Touting more than a decade of media experience on both the studio and agency side, he oversees media strategy for FilmDistrict. Goldberg most recently served as Senior Vice President of Media and Promotions for Sony Pictures Entertainment, where he developed strategy and implemented tactics for more than 20 theatrical titles each year, including films from the SPIDER-MAN and RESIDENT EVIL franchises. He also previously served as a Vice President for advertising agency McCann Erickson.

Nagpal moves up from Vice President, Finance and Business Development of FilmDistrict. He worked closely with the company’s founders on the initial business plan that resulted in the company’s funding by a private investor. Nagpal manages film greenlighting, deal analysis, financial planning and strategy for all FilmDistrict acquisitions and third-party deals. Prior to joining FilmDistrict, Nagpal worked in business development at the Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group.
