First outrage about Ben Affleck's casting as Batman, and now fans are crying foul following the news that Dakota Johnson will play Anastasia and Charlie Hunnam will play Christian Grey in the film adaptation of E L James' "Fifty Shades of Grey."
Fervent fans of the S&M-themed novels (put down their well-worn copies of the racy trilogy) and descended on Change.org creating a petition demanding that the actors who nabbed the roles be replaced.
"Matt Bomer is the PERFECT DESCRIPTION OF CHRISTIAN GREY AND ALEXIS BLEDEL IS THE PERFECT ACTRESS TO REPRESENT ANASTASIA STEELE and if THEY ARE NOT, NOBODY WILL BE," the petition reads.
Adding, "Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel always will be for us the Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele."
The fan-driven petition already has over 23,000 people supporting it.
In more news related to the movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter, a slew of other actors were in the mix for the role.
Garrett Hedlund was reportedly pursued for the role, as was British actor Christian Cooke, who fans might know from "Magic City."
Shailene Woodley was also reportedly sought after early on, but had conflicts due to her role in "Divergent." The 21-year-old was reportedly onboard with the movie's nudity.
