Dumpsville & Final Rose Proposed on 'Bachelor'

Dumpsville & Final Rose Proposed on 'Bachelor'

Ben Flajnik pulled an Ashley Hebert on The Bachelor season finale, leading both Courtney Robertson and Lindzi Cox on till the very end. When judgment day came, he only had one rose and one Neil Lane ring to gift. Who did he make his bride-to-be?

Ben's mom and sister gave both gals ringing endorsements, so he was left on his own accord to reach a decision. Taped months before Gwyneth Paltrow made a statement on the Oscars' red carpet in a Tom Ford cape, Courtney and Lindzi set the trend. Courtney channeled Cruella de Vil, minus the white streak and cigarette, donning a black dress, gloves, and white cloak. Similarly, Lindzi was a Little Green Riding Hood with a cape covering her gown.

Can 'Bachelor' Ben Flajnik Turn 'Lust' to 'Love?'

Lindzi embodied a fairytale character, but it was not time for her happily ever after. Like her previous breakup, it was "dumpsville, population you" for the equine enthusiast. "I have fallen in love with you, but I need those moments to last a lifetime and I've found that with someone else," Ben hesitated. Lindzi shrugged her shoulders and accepted the let-down in stride. She gave Ben an affectionate pat and hug before boarding her awaiting helicopter. "I'm mad at myself for not giving you what you needed," she admitted with regret. "Good luck. If things don't work out, call me."

Hearts stopped when Ben inserted a "but" into his proposal to Courtney, suggesting he might choose neither like Brad Womack as his first stint on The Bachelor. "I think you are an incredible woman, but I promised myself that I wouldn't get down on one knee again unless it was forever and I want to tell you that you are my forever." He then asked for her hand, saying, "Courtney, will you marry me?" She said "yes" to the proposal and uttered "I do" to accept the final rose.

Order in 'Bachelor' Court! Courtney Pleads Guilty

Throughout the season fans and fellow bachelorettes cast doubts on the stability of Ben's relationship with Courtney. Lindzi predicted, "If he does marry Courtney, I'd be completely shocked. He'd look like a fool." Many have also suggested that Lindzi has "dodged a bullet" by not being the chosen one.

The Bachelorette with Emily Maynard premieres on ABC on Monday, May 14.
