Disney: ‘Ant Man And The Wasp’ A Go, ‘Incredibles 2’ Dated & More

Ant-Man is getting a sequel. Marvel made it official this morning, slating Ant-Man And The Wasp for July 6, 2018. Disney made a broader slate announcement this morning along with the Marvel updates that includes shifting dates for Marvel’s Black Panther and Captain Marvel and scheduling three new untitled Marvel movies that moves the franchise into 2020 (see the full list of dates below). It also has plans for two new Pixar movies (in 2020).

Disney announced a total of 19 films with either title changes, new release dates or previous dates pushed, in some cases by a full year. They pushed Captain Marvel by a year and it now sits on a date in 2019. Same with Toy Story 3 … it’s been run over by Cars 3.

Toy Story 4, which had been slotted for that June 2017 date taken by Cars 3, is moving back a year to June 15, 2018. Cars will take its spot on June 16th, 2017.

More news on the Pixar front: Disney announced that The Incredibles 2 is now dated for June 21, 2019, and the previously untitled November 22, 2017 Pixar pic now has a name: Coco.

Another new name unveiled today: Disney Animation’s Gigantic, which bows March 9, 2018. Both Coco and Gigantic were tipped at Disney’s annual D23 Expo in August.

Disney has been busy ramping up its live-action fairy-tale pics after the success of Maleficent and Cinderella. No titles attached yet, but there are now dates to add to the mix: the first of the new pics is December 22, 2017; followed by November 2, 2018; March 29, 2019; and November 8, 2019.

They announced dates well into 2020. Yeah, 2020, staking out Thanksgivings and summer dates five years from now. FIVE years. The studio also pushed Black Panther in 2018 by five months.
