Diane Warren Music Catalog Optioned for Broadway-Aimed Musical

The music catalog of Diane Warren, who wrote such hits as "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing," "If I Could Turn Back Time" and "Unbreak My Heart," has been optioned by producer Dede Harris for a new musical aimed for Broadway.

The Grammy- and Golden Globe-winning songwriter has penned tunes for such singers as Aerosmith, Tina Turner, Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion.

She also has been nominated for six Academy Awards, the last in 2001 for Faith Hill's "There You'll Be" from the movie "Pearl Harbor."

The creative team and a timeline for the musical project will be announced at a later date.

Dede Harris Productions recently produced "One Man, Two Guvnors" and "Clybourne Park" on Broadway. It a producing for the upcoming "Hands on a Hardbody," which features music by Phish frontman Trey Anastasio and Amanda Green.

The musical had its premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse and is scheduled to open in spring 2013 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.
