David Bowie Debuts 'Valentine's Day' Video

Continuing his look-at-me-I'm-really-healthy music video series, David Bowie has released a new clip for the song "Valentine's Day."

Directed by photography power duo Indrani and Markus Klinko, who previously collaborated with Bowie on artwork for his 2002 album Heathen (and were the stars of the short-lived Bravo reality show, Double Exposure), the video features the singer strumming a red headless electric guitar while seated among distressed columns in what could be either a decrepit palace or a grand parking garage.

A seasoned actor who's appeared in such movies as 1986's Labyrinth and Basquiat, released a decade later, Bowie's emotive skills are on full display in the moody video. You could say the same of the song which intensifies with each passing chorus, reaching a crescendo of guitar and vocal wails.

"Valentine's Day" is the fourth single released from Bowie's latest album, The Next Day, which arrived with little promo and not a single public appearance by the elusive art-rock legend.

His previous video for the album's title track, which featured Bowie playing a Christ-like figure and co-starred Marion Cotillard as a sort of saint and Gary Oldman as a sleazy-looking priest, landed an adult-only rating from YouTube.
