Daniel Sauli Joins HBO Movie ‘Confirmation'; Jonathan Whitesell In ABC Family Pilot ‘Beyond’

Daniel Sauli has landed a role in HBO Films’ upcoming movie Confirmation, toplined by Kerry Washington. The film details the Supreme Court hearings for Clarence Thomas (Wendell Pierce) that were rocked by testimony by Oklahoma law professor Anita Hill (Washington), which brought the country to a standstill and forever changed the way we think about sexual harassment, victims’ rights and modern race relations. CESD-repped Sauli will play Mark Paoletta, a lawyer with the Office of White House Counsel. He will next be seen in HBO’s Show Me a Hero, The Wannabe which screened at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival and Ben Younger’s Bleed For This.

Newcomer Jonathan Whitesell has booked a regular role on ABC Family’s supernatural drama pilot Beyond in a recasting. The pilot, which has begun production in Vancouver, centers on a young man named Holden (Burkely Duffield) who wakes up from a coma after 12 years and discovers he is emotionally still a teenager, physically an adult and possessed with supernatural abilities that propel him into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy. Whitesell will play Luke, a teenager whose childhood has been complicated by the tragedy of his brother’s coma and the havoc it has wreaked on his parents. The role became available when Duffield, initially announced as Luke, was moved to the role of Holden in a recasting for originally announced Callan McAuliffe. Whitesell is repped by Jamie Levitt of Lauren Levitt and Associates and Thruline Entertainment.
