Dances With Films Festival Unveils Lineup

The Dances With Films Festival has unveiled its lineup of 16 narrative features and 32 short films for its 18th edition, running May 28-June 7 at the TCL Chinese in Hollywood.

The lineup of the fest, aimed at presenting top unknown filmmakers, is selected from more than 2,000 film submissions annually. “We are thrilled to be a world premiere destination for such a wealth of exciting and fresh voices,” said Leslee Scallon, festival co-founder.

The lineup includes Mel Rodriguez III’s “In Stereo,” starring Micah Hauptman, Beau Garrett, Melissa Bolona, Kieran Campion and Mario Cantone; Dylan K. Naran’s “All I Need,” starring Caitlin Stasey, Markus Taylor, Holly Twyford, Rachel Melvin, Sorel Carradine and Leah McKendrick; Kristjan Thor’s “Astraea” (pictured above), starring Nerea Duhart, Scotty Crowe, Dan O’Brien and Jessica Cummings; and Shaun Benson’s “Barn Wedding,” starring Emily Coutts, Kelly McCormack, Brett Donahue and Lara Jean Chorostecki.

Other titles include Jody McVeigh-Schultz’s “Echo Lake”; Benjamin Meyer’s “Fools”; Eleanor Gaver’s “Here One Minute”; Clay Riley Hassler’s “Homeless”; Patrick Biesemans’ “The Treasure Hunt”; Valerie Brandy’s “Lola’s Last Letter”; Josh Fraiman’s “The Man in the Shadows”; Eduardo Maytorena and Wayne Mitchell’s “Soledad”; Jon Drever’s “Superbob”; and Edd Benda’s “Superior.”
