‘The Daily Show’s Aasif Mandvi Set For ‘Million Dollar Arm’

EXCLUSIVE: Aasif Mandvi has signed on to co-star with Jon Hamm in Million Dollar Arm, the Craig Gillespie-directed pic by writer Tom McCarthy (The Visitor) for Disney. The film is based on a true story about struggling sports agent JB Bernstein (Hamm) and his partner Aash Shah (Mandvi), who are facing shutting down their office until JB gets a brainstorm: Million Dollar Arm, an American Idol-like reality show designed to find the first major league baseball player from cricket-crazy India. The film begins production in May, shooting in India and Atlanta. Mandvi is a regular correspondent on The Daily Show, and he co-stars opposite Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn in Fox’s The Internship this summer. He is repped by ICM Partners and Sweet 180 Management.
