Chuck Todd-Hosted ‘Meet The Press’ Logs Best May Since 2012

NBC’s Meet The Press delivered its best May sweep since 2012 in overall and in the news demo. It delivered 2.609 million overall viewers and 826,000 in the key age bracket. Still, it finished the sweep behind ABC’s This Week (2.625 million viewers, 881,000 news demo viewers) as well as CBS’s pack leader Face the Nation (3.240 million viewers, 891,000 news demo viewers). MTP was, however, No. 1 with younger viewers, clocking 623,000 18-49 year olds, to Face the Nation’s 563,000 and This Week’s 584,000.

For the sweep NBC’s Sunday Beltway show gained 11% in overall audience and 31% in the news demo. In the younger demo, it jumped 35% year to year. Last May, MTP was hosted by David Gregory (the network tossed him in August); Chuck Todd took over as host on September 7, 2014. Year to year, the show slashed the gap with This Week by 95% in total viewers and 59% in the news demo.
