Chris Carlson To Head New Production Company Under All3Media America Umbrella

Veteran exec producer and Undercover Boss showrunner Chris Carlson will head up Commonwealth Unscripted, a newly formed production company under the All3Media America umbrella, the prodco behind Undercover Boss.

Commonwealth will create, develop and sell original unscripted ideas that it will produce in partnership with All3Media America, the Los Angeles-based studio for UK’s All3Media. In addition to starting Commonwealth, Carlson will continue to serve as exec producer of CBS’ Undercover Boss.

“I’m hugely excited by the opportunity to create new shows, while ensuring that Undercover Boss continues to be a hit show on CBS,” said Carlson.

“Chris has been a great partner on “Undercover Boss” and we look forward to expanding our relationship with him through the creation of Commonwealth Unscripted,” said All3Media America President Eli Holzman.

Before joining Undercover Boss as showrunner in Season 2, Carlson oversaw the series as VP of Alternative Series Development at CBS. The series won 2 Primetime Emmys and was nominated for a third. While at the network, Carlson also developed new shows while covering franchises such as Survivor, Amazing Race and Big Brother. Additional producing credits include Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List, for which he won his first Emmy, as well as Bravo’s Blow Out, VH-1’s I Love New York and The CW’s Farmer Wants A Wife. Carlson previously worked as a supervising producer at Next Entertainment where he worked on projects such Big Man On Campus and Superstar USA. He also spent time developing series at MTV including Punk’d, The Osbourne’s, Making The Video and Dismissed.

Commonwealth Unscripted becomes the 11th company under the All3Media America umbrella. The company will be based out of the All3Media America Los Angeles offices.
