‘Captain America’s’ Sebastian Stan Fires Back at Zack Snyder’s Marvel Remarks

More shots have been fired in the ongoing war between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and up-and-coming DC Cinematic Universe.

After “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” director Zack Snyder said the DC films wouldn’t be a like “the flavor of the week Ant-Man,” Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, in the Captain America movies, stepped up to Marvel’s defense.

“Yeah, I’m sitting here and I’m listening to you and I’m thinking, ‘Do I want to fire some shots at DC right now, at Zack Snyder?'” Stan said in an interview with Collider.

“Something about, ‘It’s not going to be your flavor-of-the-week Ant-Man.’ And I was like, ‘Oh thanks, Zack. That’s great. Way to do something original,'” Stan continued. “But I would say we’re still making something very original in our own way. I mean, the Russo’s are coming in and taking something people are used to and they’re shaping it up and changing it in a very different way. They’re not trying to mimic a better Christopher Nolan movie or something like that.”

Originally slated to release on the same day, Snyder’s “Batman v Superman” will bow first on March 25, while “Captain America: Civil War,” starring Stan, will release on May 6.
