‘Captain America: Civil War’ Footage And New Teaser Trailer Screened At D23

Steve Rogers/Captain America himself, Chris Evans, introduced the Civil War teaser trailer, which got right down to business with brutal fight scenes — crystalizing the conflict between Tony Stark/Robert Downey Jr. and Captain America and other Avengers. Their feud stems from disagreement over their place in the world and how ordinary people view them – as heroes or vigilantes. Or as General Thunderbolt Ross (William Hurt) sums up, “People are afraid.”

At the end, Paul Rudd/Scott Lang/Ant-Man’s enthusiasm spills forth when he’s brought into Captain America’s faction, and he goes completely starstruck. “I know you know a lot of super … people, so I wanted to say thinks for thanking of me. Thanks for thinking of me.”

Unfortunately Disney/Marvel is not making the trailer or footage available today.

In addition to Evans, Downey and Hurt, returning cast members include Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Frank Grillo, Tom Holland, and Daniel Brühl. The movie is directed by Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely.
