Busan: ‘Men & Chicken’ Goes to Company L

South Korean distributor, Company L has acquired Korean rights to “Men & Chicken,” the new film by Denmark’s Anders Thomas Jensen.

The comedy, which stars Mads Mikkelsen (“Hannibal,” “Casino Royale”) recently won the director award at the Fantastic Fest in Austin.

The film has been a hot seller for LevelK, the Denmark-based sales agency which has taken a growing interest in Asian and Australian films. The film has been licensed to some 20 territories. North American rights were sold to Drafthouse Films before its regional premiere in Toronto last month.

LevelK recently opened a branch office in Hong Kong, headed by Derek Lui, in order to source acquisitions and better service its Asian distributor clients. “Men & Chicken” will next play in the Golden Horse festival in Taiwan.
