Brenton Thwaites Board Summit’s ‘Gods of Egypt’

Brenton Thwaites to join Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Gerard Butler in Summit’s “Gods of Egypt.”

Alex Proyas is on board to direct the pic.

Story follows a common thief who joins a mythical god on a quest through Egypt. Thwaites would play the thief.

Proyas will produce along with Basil Iwanyk through his Thunder Road Pictures.

Thwaites is a rising stars who has been waiting for a role like this to land. He was up for the male lead opposite Mark Wahlberg in Paramount’s “Transformers: Age of Extinction” before Jack Reynor got it and was in the running for a big role in the new “Pirates of the Caribbean” film before its production was pushed.

Thwaites is repped by WME and Industry Entertainment.
